Rachana Maurya was born and raised in Mumbai and started her career at the young age of 16.

She catapulted to the limelight after featuring in the item number Deedar De from the Hindi film Dus in 2005. After which, she appeared in the remix song of Aashiq Banaya Aapne alongside Himesh Reshamiya. She became one of the most sought after actress to do item numbers after appearing in the video song of Desi Soda Whisky of Rishi Singh.

Subsequently, she moved to the south and did item numbers in all south Indian language films.
